I've always distrusted a chef who doesn't try his own dishes ...

That said, we will begin this series of publications where we will analyze with real examples or "Case Studies" characteristics and functionalities of some of our products and/or services.

Today it's Wordpress, but what exactly is WordPress?

Wordpress is today one of the most used platforms for creating internet sites, not only for blogs (as many believe) but also for the development of business websites or even more complex and feature-rich portals, let's see what it tells us Wikipedia on Wordpress:

WordPress ( is a content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL that is usually used with the MySQL or MariaDB database servers but can also use the SQLite database engine. Features include a plugin architecture and a template system. It is most associated with blogging but supports other types of web content including more traditional mailing lists and forums, media galleries, and online stores. Used by more than 60 million websites, including 33.6% of the top 10 million websites as of April 2019. WordPress is the most popular website management system in use. WordPress has also been used for other application domains such as pervasive display systems (PDS).

WordPress was released on May 27, 2003, by its founders, Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little, as a fork of b2/cafelog. The software is released under the GPLv2 (or later) license.

To function, WordPress has to be installed on a web server, either part of an Internet hosting service like WordPress. com or a computer running the software package WordPress. org in order to serve as a network host in its own right. A local computer may be used for single-user testing and learning purposes.

All (absolutely all) our hosting plans are compatible and support Wordpress as CMS, some are even optimized and pre-configured for Wordpress from the beginning. In fact, IT-Alfa and all the sections within our Web are built on Wordpress (even the forums from where you are currently reading this publication).
It is likely that according to the specific section you navigate inside of our website; a Plugin, in particular, is installed and activated or vice-versa as the case may be (for example the Plugins installed here in the Forums are not the same as those installed in the blog) ... but beyond the section wherever you are ... all our website runs on Wordpress.

The most concrete proof of compatibility and integration with Wordpress in our hosting packages ... is that we have developed this site entirely in Wordpress !.
