I use a local company for server space as well. Staying away from Gmail for now
The problem is that a lot of other mail servers will reject mail from you because of spam.
Didn't see this before. This is only true if you don't setup DKIM, SPF, and DMARC records. You always need a valid PTR record. Set those up properly and you'll have no issues with mail going to spam.
