DKIM is an authorization method for email. It is used to guard against hoax sender addresses in the From field of an email.
This technique is in widespread use for spam emails or phishing attacks. DKIM lets a sender put a digital signature on their emails proving the authenticity of their domain.

SPF is somewhat similar, but you should always use both.
SPF allows email senders to define which IP addresses are allowed to send mail for a particular domain.
DKIM provides an encryption key and digital signature that verifies that an email message was not forged or altered.
